Mango bloom mystery solved

Turns out, according to Jeff Wasielewski, commercial tropical fruit Extension Agent, the last cold spell in March prompted the latent buds to burst on the mango trees. They probably won't set fruit, he said in an email. But wow, there are a lot of them.

Another round of mango blooms

As happened in the recent past, mango trees that now have fairly decent-sized fruit are putting out a second bloom, Keitt and Nam Dac Mai in my yard have long panicles of flowers once more.

The Keitt has so many small fruit that it now is off-loading them (this is normal at least). Will keep you posted.
