Experience a Tuscan Evening at Fairchild with author Frances Mayes

Celebrating the publication of Every Day in Tuscany: Seasons of an Italian Life

  Coral Gables, FL, March 23, 2010— Join us on April 1 at Fairchild for cocktails and conversation with award winning author, Frances Mayes, discussing her new book, Every Day in Tuscany: Seasons of an Italian Life, where Mayes chronicles her continuing, two-decade love affair with Tuscany’s people, art, cuisine and lifestyle. This event marks the launch of the Books & Books at Fairchild Garden Series, an ongoing seasonal partnership in collaboration with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Schedule of Events:

6:30 – 7:00 p.m. – Tram Tour of the Garden

7:00 – 8:00 p.m. – Wine and Conversation with the Author

8:00 p.m. – Talk and Q&A with Frances Mayes

Book signing to follow

Tickets are required for this event and may be purchased at all Books & Books locations and at the Shop at Fairchild, while supplies last. Fairchild members will receive a $5 discount on tickets, if purchased at Fairchild Garden ONLY with their membership card. Books & Books customers will receive a 10% discount on membership to the Garden. 
The $40 ticket includes entrance to the garden, a tram tour of the premises, reception with the author, talk/lecture in the Visitor Center and an autographed copy of Every Day in Tuscany by Frances Mayes. You will receive your copy of the book on April 1st at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. However, if you would like to redeem your book before the night of the event, there will be a stub on the ticket that may be used for that purpose.

About the Author
Frances Mayes is the author of four books about Tuscany. The now-classic Under the Tuscan Sun–which was a New York Times bestseller for more than two and a half years and became a Touchstone movie starring Diane Lane. It was followed by Bella Tuscany and two illustrated books, In Tuscany and Bringing Tuscany Home. She is also the author of the novel, Swan, six books of poetry, and The Discovery of Poetry. Her books have been translated into more than twenty languages.
