Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity, hosted by Smithsonian magazine. It represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity, and inclusion. This year’s Museum Day theme is Women Making History!

Things to do:

Wings of the Tropics Conservatory: Come enjoy hundreds of exotic butterflies in our Wings of the Tropics exhibit!
Hsiao Lab Tour: See science in action in our state-of-the-art DiMare Science Village, our scientific hub for tropical botany. Our BioTECH students are happy to share our various conservation science initiatives with you.
Women in History Photo Booth: This year’s Museum Day theme is “Women Making History,” honoring women in society who are trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation and culture, emboldening others to be pioneers as well.
Richard H. Simons Rainforest: Explore the rainforest and get a taste of the tropics! Spot our recently installed orchids, part of an upcoming exhibition. Stroll through the Palmetum, Cycad Circle and Vista, the Arboretum, and our many other exhibits of plants and ecosystems from water features to arid deserts.
