CAPTURING THE BUTTERFLY IN COLOR PENCIL

CAPTURING THE BUTTERFLY IN COLOR PENCIL

Classes at Fairchild

When: Tuesday, January 22, 2019 1:30 PM to Tuesday, January 22, 2019 3:30 PM

Instructor: Carlos Gallostra

One of nature’s wonders, the butterfly will serve as the muse for this workshop in color studies. Using butterfly specimens from Fairchild’s Wings of the Tropics collection, the student will develop studies in color pencil (regular or watercolor based) on paper from direct observation. These sustained studies will promote a better understanding in concepts addressing color theory, associative measurement, and composition. These studies will surely complement any other course in visual arts and add to the artist’s overall body of work.

1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Section A: Tuesdays, January 22 – February 19 (five sessions)

Fee per section: Member, $180; Non-member, $255
