Classes at Fairchild

The Florida summer comes on quickly. It's time to get your calendars out and start planning summer activities for you and your kids. The Garden is offering a variety of summer camps for children ages 6 through 13. Whether their interest is in exploring the great outdoors and becoming a junior naturalist, a science detective, an artist or being innovative in our Growing Beyond Earth Steam activities, there is something to keep your child's interests flowing during June and July at the Garden.

Beat the heat and come and enjoy an art class in the cool air-conditioning while honing your skills in oil, acrylic, colored pencil, pastel, charcoal/chalk or watercolor.

Or partake in one of our Garden-inspired photography or iPhoneography classes. These short courses can fit right into your summer vacation schedules.

Put on a lab coat and participate in Fairchild's Million Orchid Project while you learn how to cultivate orchids in the Orchid Microprogation Lab. And if you want to turn your backyard into a mango grove, add color to your garden, get a head start on preparing for next season's raised beds or brush up on orchids, there's a quick and easy horticulture class for you during the summer season.

Try something new and different in the Garden's newest wellness offerings. Join in the mood-elevating effects of the Chinese practice for longevity and learn about the Five Elements of Medical Quigong. Get to know the art and science of Feng Shui and apply it to your home or office.

There is something for every interest in our summer schedule. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in our classes soon!

Registration will open on Thursday, May 2.

The Summer Classes at Fairchild is printed in The Tropical Garden Magazine, delivered to Garden members' homes in early May.
