
Photography
Photographs for personal use are allowed. Tripods and monopods are allowed except on narrow paths in the conservatory and rainforest.
Professional photographers taking photos for engagements, quinces and other events must obtain a permit from the information desk at the Visitor Center. Cost is $200.
Film and advertising shoots must contact the Director of Special Events, Ann Schmidt, at 305-667-1651, ext. 3344 or aschmidt@fairchildgarden.org.
Etiquette
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is a beautiful place to visit. We ask that you help protect and preserve the garden for others to enjoy and have a wonderful visit by observing the following guidelines:
- Do not pick flowers, leaves, fruit or seed from the plants or off the ground. Removal of any plant material is not permitted.
- You may walk on the grass anywhere in the garden.
- Do not approach or feed any wildlife on the grounds or in the lakes.
- Enjoy the trees but please do not climb on them.
- Please supervise children carefully. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Service animals may accompany visitors with disabilities but pets are not permitted in the garden.
- Back away from an approaching tram and maintain a five foot distance from oncoming and passing vehicles.
- Protect yourself from the sun, bugs and dehydration, particularly in warmer months.
- Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times in the garden.
- Please do not picnic near the lakes or throw anything into the lakes.
- Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and on all vehicles.
- Fairchild is not a park so we ask that you do not bring radios, recreational games, bicycles, skateboards, scooters or roller blades. Also, no firearms.
- Please deposit trash in designated receptacles.
- Strollers, wheelchairs and power chairs are permitted in the garden.
