Join us as we mingle at the hottest spots in town, go on moonlight tram tours, judge debates and learn about tropical plants. We even get down and dirty working on environmental projects. We are the Fairchild Palms, a young professional's volunteer group. Our diverse members share a passion for the environment through a variety of fun events. The funds we raise go directly to the Fairchild Challenge, the garden's competitive environmental outreach program for middle and high school students. We are working today to conserve tomorrow.
The Fairchild Palms is now an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its operations are independent of Fairchild, but its mission is inextricably linked.
The Palms offer fun social and networking activities, combined with leadership and educational opportunities. This makes the Palms an ideal group for busy young professionals to meet new people and rekindle friendships in the midst of Miami's urban jungle. We invite you to come grow with us so we can make a difference together.
The Fairchild Palms, Fairchild's young professionals, are volunteers composed of South Florida's future leaders.
The Fairchild Challenge
The Fairchild Palms donates all fundraising profits to the Fairchild Challenge.
The Fairchild Challenge is Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden's environmental education outreach program for middle and high schools. With separate but parallel programs for grades 6-8 and 9-12, it is composed of multidisciplinary competitions aligned with the Sunshine State Standards benchmarks. This free, annual program is open to all schools in the greater Miami area. Last year over 40,000 students from 100 schools participated.
The Fairchild Palms sponsor several events throughout the year. Each event has committees of volunteers that organize everything from décor to comprehensive marketing plans.
