Join us for the celebration of that divine tropical plant, Theobroma cacao, the source of chocolate. For two days guests will be immersed in the wonderful and diverse world of chocolate.  From chocolate treats to tree sales, cooking demonstrations to chocolate sculpture competitions, chocolate will reign supreme. Here are some of the festival highlights:

Lectures: Learn about the cacao tree and all of its wonders! Did you know, the scientific name of the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao, means "food of the gods"?

The Chocolate and Rainforest Experience: Volunteers will be giving lectures and tours of Fairchild's Rainforest. Come learn all about cacao and its habitat.

Cooking Demonstrations: There are cooking demonstrations all weekend long in the Cooking Demonstration Pavilion. Learn how to whip up some heavenly treats.

Plant Sales: Now you can have your very own Oncidium "Sharry Baby" Chocolate orchid and cacao tree!

Tastings: Sample some of the greatest chocolate on the planet Earth.  From dark to white, fine to thick, decide which is your favorite. Chocolate vendors will have samples available for tasting, however, quantities are limited.

Admission to Fairchild's 3rd Annual Chocolate Festival is free for Fairchild members and children 5 and under, $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens 65 and older and $10 for children 6-17.
