We’re glad you are interested in celebrating your special day at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Unlike any other South Florida location, Fairchild is a beautiful botanical garden that showcases rare palms, cycads, flowering trees, vines, lakes and much more. Fairchild is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting the conservation, use, study, understanding and enjoyment of tropical plants. Private events help support this mission.

For couples that would like to have a more economical ceremony but still enjoy the beauty of our garden, we offer a daytime ceremony only option. Daytime ceremonies may take place in the garden between the hours of 10:00 am and 4 pm. The fee is $500 for 30 people; $20 each additional person up to 60. There are no dressing rooms available for the bride, groom, or bridal party. Photographers are permitted to accompany the group. No wedding canopies, runners, food or beverages are allowed for the daytime garden ceremony. Chairs are available for rent for a small fee. If you wish to have music at your event, we allow unamplified music such as flutes, guitars or harps.

Are wedding ceremonies allowed at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden?
Yes, however, daytime ceremonies may only take place in the Overlook area. Evening ceremonies may be held on the grounds only if the client is also hosting the wedding reception at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Do you have to be a member of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in order to rent the facility for an event?
No, however, when renting Fairchild facilities for an event, renter receives a Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden membership at a Corporate Friend or Fellow’s level ($1,000 level). A portion of this membership is tax-deductible. The renter will receive a tax-deductible letter. Your membership becomes effective 30 days after your deposit is collected and is not refundable.
At what times may ceremonies be held?
Daytime: Monday through Friday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Evening ceremonies may begin at 6:00 pm
*Guests will be permitted into the space 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
Are wedding ceremony rehearsals permitted?
Yes, but must be scheduled according to availability.
Are dressing rooms available to the bridal party?
There are no dressing rooms available. We suggest that the bride and/or groom change prior to arriving at the garden.
Does Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden provide catering?
No, however we do have a list of caterers for you to choose from or you may decide to select your own caterer. For more information, please contact our special events department at: 305-667-1651 ext. 3391 or ext. 3358.
Is the photography permit included in the rental fee?
When hosting a wedding reception and ceremony at the garden, a photography permit fee is included. Any area of the garden may be used for photographs, but cannot be reserved. Garden staff will not be available to accompany the bridal party for photographs.
Is a wedding coordinator required at the garden for the event?
No, there is no wedding coordinator required at the garden for the event, however we do recommend hiring a coordinator to ensure a seamless event.
What are the set-up, tear down, and prop requirements at the garden?
Set-up time for evening events vary depending on the start time of the event and should not interfere with regular garden activities. Your garden special events contact will confirm the set-up time. The client must arrange for all props used in the ceremony and reception to be removed immediately following the event. All props used in the event are subject to approval by the garden staff.
In the case of inclement weather, what happens to an outdoor wedding?
As a garden we are very aware of the whims of Mother Nature, therefore we always discuss backup rain plans prior to events.
Does the Garden require the use of specific vendors for floral and entertainment?
Any florist, band, or DJ is welcome to service your event at the garden. Their contact information is to be provided to the garden special event coordinator at least 2 weeks prior to the event; they will be required to follow all rules regarding load-in and load-out at the garden.
Is there a parking fee for event guests?
Parking fees are complimentary for guests of a private event up to 200 people. Larger events do require valet parking for a fee of $5 per person.
Does Fairchild offer a Wedding Registry?
Yes, Fairchild offers a wonderful wedding registry service for our brides and grooms through The Shop at Fairchild. One of the sales associates will accompany you as you make your selections from a variety of uniquely tropical plates, glasses, furniture, pots, silverware, and much more. And, your guests will be able to take advantage of your 10% membership discount whenever they make a purchase from your list.
