| Description: | It's that time of year again; mango trees are heavy with fruit, ready for a great harvest, and the 16th Annual International Mango Festival Presented by Whole Foods! Fairchild's International Mango Festival will feature everything for the mango lover—mango tree sales, mango lectures, mango medics, displays of more than 200 mangos from Fairchild nurseries, the International Fruit Market, mango smoothies, a children's program that includes a mango puppet show, mango theater and cooking demonstrations. This year's highlights are: Saturday, July 12, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mango tree sales, Price: $40 each. Dr. Richard J. Campbell, Senior Curator of Tropical Fruit, has selected mango varieties well-suited to our conditions. He's also selected the Curator's Choice mango trees. These varieties represent a new generation of mangos with superior horticultural traits. At 9:00 a.m., tree sales open for Fairchild Members. A tree holding area is available both days adjacent to tree sales area. Sunday, July 13, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., The International Fruit Market, mango cooking demonstrations, the world-famous mango auction and more! The Mango Brunch is at 11:00 a.m., Garden House, Tickets: Members $75; Non-members $100 and the Mango Auction 3:00-6:00 p.m., Garden House.
