Homeschool Program

Explore and learn about the beauty of the world-renowned Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden with your homeschool group. Guided programs are especially designed for children between the ages of 5-12 and include hands-on lessons where every child can see the world as our botanists do.

 
2 PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED:

Tropical Rainforests: February 6, 2012
Take a journey with us as we explore South Florida’s largest tropical rainforest. Through hands-on exploration participants will learn about rainforest plant adaptations, the resourcefulness of the rainforest people in mastering the use of these plants, and the diversity of the rainforest.

Plants from Around the World: April 2, 2012
Participants will explore Fairchild’s Tropical Fruit Pavilion and discover first hand some of the amazing foods from far away places that can be grown here in South Florida. They will be amazed to discover that all parts of plants are eaten, including the roots, stems, flowers and bark! 

 
Fees:
$6 per student, $10 per adult

You must register in advance to guarantee a space for your homeschool group. Please arrive to the Visitor Center at 9:30 am.
