IN LOVE WITH MONET – PAINTING WATER LILIES IN OILS, ACRYLICS OR WATER-MIXABLE OILS
Maida Yap Jimenez
Enchanting lighting, strong colors and freedom of brushstrokes…this workshop will transport you to Monet’s water gardens in Giverny. Your artist instructor, Mrs. Maida Yap Jimenez, will give you a brief introduction to Claude Monet’s work, which in turn will inspire you to create your own work of art. Become acquainted with the various techniques used by the early 20th century French impressionism movement that so vividly captured the endless and serene beauty of water lilies. The idea is not to paint water lilies the way they are, but to make a “passionate impressionistic merge” of the sky, land and water. Fairchild will provide your canvas and setting to take pictures of the water lilies. Finished paintings from this workshop will be entered as a group in the Fairchild Artists in Bloom Exhibit Show and Sale in May, 2010.
