Join us for an overview of the elementary school competitions for The Fairchild Challenge 2013-2014 program year.

Wednesday-Friday, October 16-18, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
GREEN TREASURES: A LIVING HISTORY (MS)

This workshop gives students a chance to conduct ethnobotanical intergenerational interviews, in three languages.

ART WORKSHOPS

Students will refine their skills with help from professional artists.

Thursday, November 21, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
*SOUNDS OF NATURE:COMPOSITION & PERFORMANCE (MS/HS)

Enjoy live musical performances of original scores tha correlate to ecosystems and time lapse nature videos.

Fall: Tuesday, November 26, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 
Spring: Tuesday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMMERSION DAY (HS)

High school students work with environmental experts, scientists and researchers during these upper level career days.

Saturday, December 14, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
*PARADE OF INCREDIBLE INSECTS (ES)

Elementary Challenge 2 participants are invited to Fairchild to model their masks of incredible insects.

Saturday, February 1, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
*ENVIRONMENTAL DEBATES (HS)

Students debate conservation issues in congressional format.

Wednesday, January 15, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
*FAIRCHILD CHALLENGE ART SHOW (ES/MS/HS)

Fairchild will host a reception showcasing all submitted artwork by students K-12.

Friday, February 7, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
YouthCaN CONFERENCE (ES)

Participating students will prepare a hands-on, interactive workshop on the environmental project of their choice and present to an audience of their peers.

Sunday, April 13, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
*GREEN CUISINE: FAIRCHILD'S FOOD & GARDEN (MS/HS)

Students prepare and share vegetarian dishes with ingredients introduced by Dr. David Fairchild.

TEACHERS' CELEBRATION BRUNCH (ES/MS/HS)

Join us for this teacher appreciation event for participating Fairchild Challenge educators. We welcome your feedback and new ideas for the coming year.
