  • Why the Natural World Has Made Me a Passionate Traveler
  • In Borneo, Rafflesia arnoldii is the world’s largest flower is a parasite on the stems and roots of Tetrastigma, a vine in the grape family. In the Arctic tundra, yellow petals of buttercup flowers form a bowl to capture heat and warm their pollinating flies. The long strands of tissue inside lotus stems are used to make thread in a village on Inle Lake in Myanmar. There are not seven wonders of the world, but there are as many wonders as you can see, if you let plants tell their stories.

Admission is free for Fairchild Members and children 5 and younger.
Non-members: $25 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and up and $12 for children 6-17.
