Moonlight Tour and Everglades Lecture

When: Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Where: Visitor Center Ballroom

Join us to experience Fairchild under the stars from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Each Moonlight Tour will Feature:

  • Enriching lectures led by Fairchild's experts and special guests, on
    topics ranging from art to gardening to conservation
  • Moonlight tram tours of the Garden
  • The stunning works of artist John Chamberlain, as well as the Sitting Naturally and Chapungu exhibitions, viewed under the moonlit sky
  • Hot chocolate and cookies
  • Free yoga classes by Rina Yoga
  • Star-gazing with the Southern Cross Astronomical Society
  • Live music by guitarist Rob Friedman

Tonight's lecture will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and is entitled Getting to Know the Everglades by Dan Kimball, Superintendent, Everglades National Park.

This presentation will provide an introduction to Everglades National Park, a review of progress and challenges in restoring the Park's imperiled ecosystem, as well as an update on new developments, programs, and opportunities in the Park.

Special Thanks to:

Admission: Free for Fairchild Members and children 5 and under.

Non-members: $25 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and up and $12 for children 6-17. 

Eco-discount: If you walk, ride your bike or take public transportation to Fairchild, receive $5 off admission for adults and $2 off admission for children. Members, remember to bring your Rewards Card to earn your gift passes! 

Military Discount: We are pleased to offer active military personnel free admission. In addition, admission for spouses is $20 and children $10. Please present Military IDs.
