Fairchild's 15th Annual Mango Brunch is a tasty tribute to the most delicious of tropical fruits and is held in conjunction with the International Mango Festival. Join some of South Florida's greatest chefs as they prepare their best mango dishes for you!
This year’s Mango Brunch Chefs:
Chef Allen Susser is a James Beard Award winning Chef. His landmark restaurant changed the way people ate in Miami forever, and affected how we all eat today. He believes in creating restaurants and relationships that endure and get better over time. Chef Allen's Sustainable Consulting is about Fooding: cooking and eating with feeling.
Andrea Curto Randazzo and Frank Randazzo
Anyone who believes the old adage that “too many chefs spoil the broth” hasn’t met Frank Randazzo and Andrea Curto-Randazzo, the wildly-talented husband and wife chef team behind Creative Tastes Catering & Event Production, Randazzo Management and formerly Talula Restaurant, Miami Beach. In addition, they are the owner/operators of the Garden & Lakeside Café Locations.
Chef Chris Bulgarin had his first Culinary Job at the age of 14. With many years of working in some of the trendiest restaurants in Coral Gables, Miami Beach, and Miami, he finally decided to go on his own and start Delicious Catering Services Event and Design. Chef Chris Bulgarin has participated in many Food shows, Festivals, TV Cooking demo's like channel 7(WSVN) morning show, and channel 20 "De Todo Un Poco" . He has taught Gourmet cooking classes for several years in Miami Dade College, Fairchild Tropical Botantical Garden, and Pinecrest Gardens. He loves to share his expertise and experiences with people.
Daniel is a Colombian-American who grew up in Medellín, Colombia. He has spent the better part of a decade honing his vision at Los Verdes Restaurants in Doral, FL. Los Verdes restaurants focuses on changing the concept of fast food by bringing top quality products and the use of healthy products to show clientele that fast food does not have to be junk food.
Johnson Teh, executive chef of Lan Pan-Asian Café and Yuga Restaurant in Coral Gables, specializes in East Asian cuisine. Chef Teh has over 25 years of culinary experience, including cooking at the Mandarin in Beverly Hills.
As a young, up-and-coming chef, Anguin joined The Oceanaire Seafood Room in downtown Miami in 2005 as a Sous Chef. Before the age of 30, he was promoted to Executive Chef and Partner and currently remains one of the youngest chefs in the Oceanaire family of restaurants. Chef Anguin adds his unique Caribbean influence to all of his culinary creations, among them his grilled lobster flatbread, short ribs with wasabi mash, lobster and mushroom risotto, citrus sweet potato, shrimp and grits, and tempura Alaskan King crab just to name a few.
Since the opening of Timo Restaurant & Bar, Chef Andriola has garnered local and national acclaim for his cuisine, earning Rising Star accolades from Esquire, Restaurant Hospitality, Star Chefs and Sterling Silver. Timo was listed as the top new restaurant by Alan Richman in GQ, landed on John Mariani’s list of favorite Italian restaurants and was designated as a restaurant not to be missed by Food & Wine. In 2006, Johnson & Wales honored him as a distinguished visiting chef. Recently, Chef Andriola opened the doors to his second restaurant, Basil Park. A casual, 125 seat chef inspired concept focusing on healthy cuisine.
The Mango Brunch is a fundraiser for our Tropical Fruit Program and the Fairchild Farm. The Tropical Fruit Program continues the pioneering work of Dr. David Fairchild, founder of the Foreign Seed and Plant Introduction Division of the United States Department of Agriculture. We are committed to his far-reaching goals for the collection, conservation, curation and distribution of superior tropical fruit from the Americas and Asia.
