Shakespeare Miami presents a staged reading of William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the enchanted gardens of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 6:30 pm.
Bring a blanket and a picnic to enjoy this wonderful production on the grand lawn near the Garden House. In case of rain, the production will move indoors to the auditorium.
There will be fully costumed and performed professional actors, and audiences can enjoy the antics of Puck, crazed lovers and warring fairy royalty.
Composed around 1596, A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare's most endearing comedies. Although it is an early work it contains complex, lyrical text and conjures up unforgettable characters like Puck, Bottom and Titania.
Set in the enchanted forest near ancient Athens, the story charts the travails of two sets of Athenian lovers, as well as the marital strife between Titania and Oberon, the Queen and King of Fairyland. A Midsummer Night's Dream contains some of mankind’s most wonderful expressions of love and dreams.
