When: Saturday, March 28, 2009 - Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Where: Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden


Come see what's cooking at Fairchild during our annual celebration of fresh foods and the gorgeous gardens they grow in. 

  • Get fresh! Gather new tips and recipes from our popular culinary demonstrations taught by local chefs using local products.
  • Go green at our farmers' market! Local growers showcase the best fruits,vegetables and herbs available in South Florida.
  • Bring your ugliest, largest or prettiest fruit or vegetable for judging to Fairchild's Fruit and Vegetable Contest.
  • Cool kids cook! On Sunday, children will enjoy hands-on activities and a special program for kids.
  • See the stunning sculptures in the Art at Fairchild exhibit.

Composting with Worms Workshop for kids
10:00 am, 12 noon, 3:00 pm
Use your excess food and paper waste to make the best soil possible for your garden and have fun doing it!
Lanette Sobel of FertileEarth.org will show you how.
$7.00 per child to make a mini-worm bin or just watch and learn for free.
