The four subscription concerts will feature many musical genres, from Schubert to Mumford & Sons!
GardenMusic’s musical programs are developed by Teddy Abrams, Harrison Hollingsworth and Johnny Teyssier, the members of the Sixth Floor Trio, who met while studying at the Curtis Institute of Music. The extensive educational programming is developed by Gabriel Globus-Hoenich.
The mission of Fairchild GardenMusic is to bring the highest-quality and most exciting chamber music to South Florida, to create a powerfully immersive experience for visitors to Fairchild that will connect music with the garden space and other artistic disciplines to foster the collaborative and creative spirit between musicians and artists in other genres, and to provide engaging and stimulating educational opportunities for young people at Fairchild.

"Stories Told Through Music"
Great music often takes us on a journey. Come be carried away by beautiful arias, a Chausson string quartet, and tales woven in the voices of Schubert, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, John Adams, and more.

"The Edge: Music that pushed the boundaries of its time"
Many of the great works we now consider to be standards caused riots and scandals in their time. Revisit the works that propelled music into new territory; from ancient African drumming and early experiments with notation, or the cutting-edge works of Bach and Beethoven, to music that prompts us to examine tonality and the boundaries of different artistic mediums.
Finale, Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 7:00PM
"A Jazzy Night"
The sounds of jazz can be found infiltrating other genres in unexpected ways. Jazz and Latin musicians join the resident GardenMusic artists for a Miami night of jazz and a nod to composers such as Bela Bartok and Maurice Ravel who were profoundly influenced by the sounds of their time.
PLEASE JOIN US BEFORE EACH CONCERT FOR PRE-SHOW EVENTS, INCLUDING SPECIAL RECITALS, DEMONSTRATIONS, AND PERFORMANCES BY TALENTED LOCAL YOUTH. ENJOY TIME IN THE GARDEN FILLED WITH GREAT MUSIC!
