Created by the American Public Gardens Association, National Public Gardens Day is a countrywide celebration that invites communities to explore the beauty of their local green spaces while raising awareness of the important role public gardens play in promoting conservation, education, and environmental preservation.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden will honor this day with special admission - $20 for adults, $13 for seniors 65 and up, and $7 for kids 6-17. Members and children 5 and under can visit for free.
We invite everyone to enjoy Fairchild’s 83 acres of lush landscaping, including our Wings of the Tropics butterfly exhibit, Rainforest, Palmetum, and much more. Food is available in the Glasshouse Café and Lakeside Café.
Narrated tram tours, included in the price of admission, last approximately 45 minutes and are offered every hour from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The tours give an excellent overview of the garden’s history, mission, and plant collections.
Wings of the Tropics
From 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., walk through the beautifully landscaped Wings of the Tropics exhibit and marvel at the numerous exotic butterflies fluttering throughout. Visitors can look into the Butterfly Metamorphosis Lab to watch these tropical butterflies emerge from their chrysalises.
