Prepare your garden for a storm

You still have time

Hurricane season always becomes serious this month, and we may face one this weekend.

Here is a quick checklist;

Look around for places to store outdoor furniture; check your coconut palms for fruit that could become lethal and have them trimmed; have chainsaw, pruners and other garden equipment in good repair; inventory what fungicides you may need, such as copper, Banrot and Dithane M45.

In preparing for a storm, lower hanging baskets, turn really heavy pots on their sides, remove shade cloth from your shade house if you don’t want it blown away.
