Pitcher plants dangle in the morning sunlight at a vendor's booth
It's here again: the Fall Garden Festival and Fairchild Ramble. This year, it is a combination of things, all of them good. The books and antiques still are here along with plant sales galore. But so are fresh produce and herbs, food booths, Nell's Tea Garden, vertical veggie gardens, artists marketplace, wood turners and more.
Sunset colors of this Aechmea bromeliad are exquisite
For some reason, my eye was drawn to the brilliant oranges, reds and yellows I found at the plant sales areas, where they seemed to reflect the good will and happiness of the day. Saturday and Sunday promise even more activities, with talks, walks, cooking demonstrations, lessons in beekeeping, a walking tour of plants collected by David Fairchild.
