This class, for the beginner and advanced student, will focus on the representation of tropical plants in watercolor and graphite. Students will draw and paint fresh plant material collected at Fairchild (provided). Using traditional botanical illustration techniques and contemporary interpretations of flora, this class will encourage expressive freedom while still honoring the beauty inherent in its plant subjects. Beginners will learn the basics of botanical art, while advanced students will be encouraged to explore new combinations of media and techniques. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
