Bad News: Honeybee Losses Climb

Losses of managed honey bee colonies hit 42.1 percent from April 2014 through April 2015, up from 34.2 percent for 2013-2014, and the second-highest annual loss to date, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a report issued on Wednesday..

Last week, I purchased some pentas at a big box store. Most other plants, such as mondo grass and purslane, had labels in them that said they had been treated with neoinictinoides.

Outrageous. While the labels at least warned me, they indicate that concern for the environment has not found its way to an important segment of growers and merchants.
