Sunday, October 9, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This fun and educational day will be full of activities to inspire life-long ‘birders’ and bird novices alike. Leading ornithological experts, including David Sibley, will give presentations and answer your bird questions. Take a Bird Walk with an expert birder, buy bird-attracting plants for your garden and learn all about our feathered friends at this annual event! Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Watch middle school students from around South Florida compete and present mini-skits (Wednesday) and songs (Thursday) reflecting the threats to endangered species. Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Fairchild’s 3rd Annual Edible Garden Festival will feature informative lectures, delicious food, cooking demonstrations, plant vendors and demonstrations on how to create the very best fruit and vegetable gardens. Wednesday, October 26, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Watch high school students from around South Florida compete and present spoken word performances on local, national or international wildlife policy. Sunday, October 30, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Enjoy special activities for pups as you parade through Fairchild’s lush surroundings showing off your Howl-o-ween costumes. You and your dog can eat delicious food, hear informative lectures, watch obedience and rally demonstrations or enter the costume contest to win prizes. Now that's something to wag your tail about!
