The first Wednesday of every month from now until November is free to all visitors! 

Plant ID Workshop

The first Friday of every month, Friday, October 7, 1:00 p.m.

Is there a plant in your garden that you just don’t know what it is? Then bring it to Fairchild’s Herbarium and let our Scientists uncover its origin! Bring your plant cutting or sample to Fairchild’s Herbarium and participate in our Plant Identification Workshop. Space is limited to the first twelve people who register online. Please no photographs, real specimens only. The Fairchild Herbarium is located at 11935 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables.

Fairchild's 3rd Annual Bird Day

Sunday, October 9, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

This fun and educational day will be full of activities to inspire life-long ‘birders’ and bird novices alike. Leading ornithological experts, including David Sibley, will give presentations and answer your bird questions. Take a Bird Walk with an expert birder, buy bird-attracting plants for your garden and learn all about our feathered friends at this annual event!

Middle School Performances

Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Watch middle school students from around South Florida compete and present mini-skits (Wednesday) and songs (Thursday) reflecting the threats to endangered species.

Fairchild's 3rd Annual Edible Garden Festival

Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Fairchild’s 3rd Annual Edible Garden Festival will feature informative lectures, delicious food, cooking demonstrations, plant vendors and demonstrations on how to create the very best fruit and vegetable gardens.

Howl-o-ween at Fairchild, Bring your Dog!

Sunday, October 30, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy special activities for pups as you parade through Fairchild’s lush surroundings showing off your Howl-o-ween costumes. You and your dog can eat delicious food, hear informative lectures, watch obedience and rally demonstrations or enter the costume contest to win prizes. Now that's something to wag your tail about!

At the Fairchild Farm

Enjoy a variety of art, horticulture and yoga classes offered in conjunction with Miami Dade College at the beautiful Fairchild Farm. The Fairchild Farm provides a tranquil and natural setting to nurture the creative spirit and inspire the artist and horticulturist in all of us. For a complete list of the classes visit our website.

Plants and People: An Interactive Garden
Unearthing a world of experiences for people living with Alzheimer's

Monday, November 28, 11:30 a.m.

Are you or a loved one living with Alzheimer’s? If so, then come to Fairchild and experience the power of plants. Early to mid-stage patients and their caregivers will be treated to lunch and an exclusive and interactive tram tour of Fairchild. View a photo gallery here. 18th Annual Holiday Music at Fairchild

Sunday, December 4,  6:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Celebrate the holidays with seasonal music and the gorgeous backdrop of the garden in winter. Guests will enjoy cocktails and dinner on the Garden House Lawn followed by the Concert in the Garden House. Individual ticket prices start at $250. Please call 305.663.8058 to reserve your seat.
