Books and Books Presents Carl Hiaasen at Fairchild

Monday, August 30, 2010, 7:00 p.m.

Join famed South Florida author, columnist and novelist Carl Hiaasen for a reading from his new book Star Island followed by a book signing.

Tickets are required for this event. $10 for Fairchild members, $15 for non-members. Tickets may be purcahsed at The Shop at Fairchild. Tickets are free with purchase of Star Island at Books & Books prior to the event.

Enjoy a variety of art, horticulture and yoga classes offered in conjunction with Miami Dade College at the beautiful Fairchild Farm. The Fairchild Farm provides a tranquil and natural setting to nurture the creative spirit and inspire the artist and horticulturalist
in all of us.

Plant Show and Sale Presented by the International Aroid Society

Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

View and shop hundreds of aroids all weekend long. Aroids are an excellent, low maintenance choice for your garden that instantly evoke the feeling of the tropics. 

7th Annual Butterfly Days at Fairchild

Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Join us for butterfly talks and walks, then shop butterfly attracting plants and enjoy kids’ activities. This year's keynote speaker will be butterfly expert Robert Michael Pyle. View the schedule.

72nd Annual Members’ Day Plant Sale

Saturday, October 2, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Shop hundreds of unique and interesting plants chosen specifically for South Florida by Senior Horticulturist Mary Collins. This event is exclusively for members. 

2nd Annual Bird Day at Fairchild

Sunday, October 3, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Bird walks and informative lectures combined with children’s activities and bird attracting plants make this a fun event for bird experts and novices alike. View the schedule. 

Plant Show and Sale Presented by the Bonsai Society of Miami

Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Award wining bonsai trees will be on display and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase bonsai plants and the materials needed to create your own very own bonsai.

Support Fairchild at Bloomingdale's

Wednesday and Thursday, October 20 and 21,
10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

Fairchild will participate in a unique two-day event, Love Where You Live – The Shopping Benefit to Support Your Community at Bloomingdale’s five Florida stores. 

Love Where You Live will feature storewide entertainment, fashion events and special savings at Bloomingdale's. Fairchild will sell tickets for $10.00 each and 100% of these proceeds benefit programs at Fairchild. Ticket holders will receive a certificate for 15 to 20% savings off Bloomingdale’s regular and sale-priced merchandise on both days of the event (with limited exclusions).
