Saturday, October 6, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Shop hundreds of unique and interesting plants chosen specifically for South Florida by Senior Horticulturist Mary Collins. This event is exclusively for members.

Free Days at Fairchild

Wednesday, October 3, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy 83 acres of paradise for free on the first Wednesday of each month from now until November.

Fairchild's Bird Festival

Thursday through Sunday, October 4 – 7, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

This event begins with birding tours on Thursday and Friday and culminates with a weekend full of activities to inspire life-long ‘birders’ and bird novices alike. Leading ornithological experts, including Pete Dunne, will give presentations and answer your bird questions. Take a Bird Walk with an expert birder, buy bird-attracting plants for your garden and learn all about our feathered friends at this annual event! 

Plant ID Workshop

Friday, October 5, 1:00 p.m. (The first Friday of every month)
Bring your plant cutting or sample to Fairchild’s Herbarium and participate in our Plant Identification Workshop. Space is limited to the first twelve people who register online. Please no photographs, real specimens only. The Fairchild Herbarium is located at 11935 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables.

Volunteer Information Days

Saturday, October 6, 10:00 a.m.

Learn all you need to know to become a Fairchild Volunteer and make a difference in your community while learning new things, sharing lasting memories and making friends that will last a lifetime during volunteer information days.

The Fairchild Challenge Presents:
Plant Superhero Performances

Wednesday and Thursday, October 17 and 18, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Watch middle school students from around South Florida compete and present mini-musicals (Wednesday) and skits (Thursday) celebrating plant superheroes and the amazing ethnobotanical properties of plants.

Fairchild's 4th Annual Edible Garden Festival

Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Fairchild’s 4th Annual Edible Garden Festival will feature informative lectures, delicious food, cooking demonstrations, plant vendors and demonstrations on how to create your own fruit and vegetable garden.

Howl-o-ween at Fairchild, Bring your Dog!

Wednesday, October 31, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy special activities for pups as you parade through Fairchild’s lush surroundings showing off your Howl-o-ween costumes. This is a special doggy-day at Fairchild that you won't want to miss. Now that's something to wag your tail about!
